Question
I'm 17 years old. My father died almost a year ago now. Ever since i could remember he would tell me when he died that his prized car 1973 Camaro would be left to me when he past away and to never sell it and take care of it. Now that he has past away i want to keep the promise i made to him and have the car shipped to me(i live in Mesa, Arizona), but after i talked to his wife she says that i could not have it because its hers. The car is still under my dads name and he didn't leave a will. Isn't there anything i can do to get my dads car? Inheritance right?? something?? Please help...

Answer
My guess is that you probably need to consult a lawyer here in Puerto Rico to see if there's anything you can do.  There is something called forced heirship in Puerto Rican law, which defines IN PART how your father's property is to be divided.  Since this concept is not common in the US, you will need to speak with an expert.

Here is a website to help you understand everything a bit better:

Maybe a quick phone call with a lawyer will be able to give you an answer as to if you have any rights to your father's property.

Check www.superpagespr.com to find lawyers.

Good luck,

Jared
