Question I may be coming to PR in July and staying 18 months. Do not want to ship a car but get longterm lease or rental. Also need Corp housing. What are your suggestions for best areas, and car rental/leasing agencies?
Answer Mary,
The best areas to live in if you are alone/single are Old San Juan, Condado and Isla Verde. These offer the best night life, are close to beaches and are more secure, since they are tourist areas. If you are coming with a family I'd suggest Guaynabo. All are in San Juan.
For car rentals and leasings, you can contact all the typical rental agencies (Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, etc.). Local companies are Charlie (www.charliecars.com), Popular Auto (www.popularautorentals.com) or Target (www.targetrentacar.com).
