Puerto Rico/What to do in PR for 2 weeks???
Expert: Nancy Torres - 6/20/2009
QuestionNancy,
I will be going to puerto rico for two weeks in late July
and i want to know what type of things i should do while
there, I am young and like to party but I also enjoy the
arts, going to museums and listening to live music and stuff
like that. I am also considering moving there for a year or
two as that is something I have always wanted to do but I do
not know if I will be able to get a job down there. I have
a degree and would be looking for a job in Finance; just
want to know how the job market is out there. Also, my
spanish is conversational so I can speak to people with no
problem, i just might ask them what some of the words they
say mean (in spanish of course).
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

For your plans on moving and working in the Island, really, this is a very difficult time to seek for a new job in Puerto Rico. The newly approved Law 7 will leave many government employees out of their jobs. Some of those employees will turn to the private industry looking for new jobs, some others will possible decide to relocate out of the Island to be able to find better working opportunities. We all know that the economical situation is really bad, affecting us all. However, my point of view is that the person that is really looking for a job will find it. It could be difficult, but for me, seeking for a job is a full time non-paid job. But, as you are aware of the present economical crisis, be careful when you decide in relocating to a new country where you will have expenses and where the unemployment rate is at unprecedented levels.
I am glad to know you speak Spanish and I hope you can soon be able to write and read this beautiful language.
It is my pleasure to be of help.
Saludos desde Puerto Rico,
Nancy
