Puerto Rico - Weather

Question
I am leaving for Puerto Rico on June 16th, 2009. It looks like its going to be raining all week. Does it rain all day or to showers come and go? I am staying in the intercontinental hotel in San Juan, 00979.
Thanks, Ryan

Answer
Hola, Ryan.
Yes, I know. The forecast is that is will rain during the week, with a better weather for the weekend.
You will mostly see that it rains, stop, the sun shines, rain again and so on.  Although there was rain expected for today, we just saw some scattered showers and the day was hot in San Juan.  I don't know where you are coming from, but prepare for a hot, humid weather during this time of the year.
You are traveling during the official storm season, which extends from June 1 to November 30.  But this is for your information.  There's nothing to worry about, as June is not an active month for storms - August and September are.
So, yes, you will see cloudy days with rain.  But you will be able to enjoy sunny days, too.   As our weather here is so variable, let's hope that your days in the Island are sunny and that you enjoy your stay.
The Intercontinental Hotel is a nice hotel in Isla Verde, Carolina, Puerto Rico - a 5 minute drive from the airport.  I hope you have the time to drive and get to know the different parts of the Island.
Enjoy your trip.
Saludos desde Puerto Rico,
Nancy
