Puerto Rico - Finding a Spanish Tutor in Isabela

Expert: Nancy Torres - 9/26/2006

Question
Hi Nancy,

Can you give me any ideas about how to find a native speaker of Spanish who can tutor a businessman in the Isabela area?

Thanks!

Answer
Hola, Mary.
Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone that I can recommend in the area of Isabela and that could serve as a tutor for your friend.  I do have some suggestions:  have him call to any of the universities in the area of Isabela, ask in any of the hotels there, some pharmaceuticals companies also use that kind of services for their executives - so perhaps you can call to their Human Resources Department.
Another good resource is to call the Puerto Rico Tourism Company - I am sure they must have some suggestions for you.  Their telephone number in San Juan 787.722.1709 and 787.721.2400.
Another idea:  Contact Ms Lynn Rocafort, at lynnr@prtc.net.  She is a Certified Cultural Trainer and North American Psychotherapist.  She works with pharmaceutical companies that provide cultural training seminars to employees and their families when they are relocated to the island.  Send her an email and ask if she can help of if she knows of someone that could offer the services you are needing.
Saludos, :)
Nancy
