Punk Rock - Hardcore

Expert: Dan Dellacecca - 6/8/2008

Question
I'm just wondering, what exactly is the difference between hardcore and punk and what defines the two.

Answer
Well, as far as the beginning of both, punk rock was a super-fast version of 60's beach music and hardcore was a faster version of that that came around about 6 years later.

The definition of "punk" is a young homosexual lifemate for an older man, so let's not get into definitions, and just say that if your band plays fast and sloppily, you're probably a punk band.
