Question I was in college at Virginia Tech from '85 to '89. While there I used to record a lot of punk stuff played on the VT radio station WUVT. On one of my tapes, theres a semi-slow punk song with a chorus that sounds like "Honey Because". A lot of the lyrics are hard to understand (especially on a 24 year old cassette) but some lines I can pick up are "one night, she took the sun and moon, and she, and she threw them like dice" and "she tore up eternity and sewed it back together". The singer really screams during the chorus. He sounds English, but so did a lot of US punk bands back then. Can you help?
Answer Sorry, Jim...
I simply have no idea who this may be. My area of expertise is really before this, say from '74-81. By the mid eighties, punk, for me, had all but dried up long before. There were some very cool bands that had grown up on punk (Birthday Party, J&MC, etc), and maybe your lyric comes from one of them, but I don't recognize the words. I do, however, feel you pain, as I have ancient, crumbly cassettes with magnificent lost treasures on them which may never be heard again...
Good luck, (maybe another expert here or elsewhere could help),
and cheers....
