I have just bought a metal film canister big enough to hold a 12' record with the god save the queen sex pistols logo on the front.
It is rusting in places inside but in not bad condition, the picture looks like it's been screen printed over a white painted circle. It looks old enough to come from the sixties.
I haven't bought it for myself but for my tattoo artist who is a proper old school punk.
There is no markings anywhere to tell you any history but the seller told me he got it from a screen printer who used to do lot of Sex Pistols posters by Jamie Reid.
Have a bought a cheap copy or just a home made job?
Thanks

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; and even now I have no news for you. I can tell you that your promo tin wasn't manufactured during the original career of the Pistols,(who operated between 1975 and 1978) more likely much more recently in response to
their reformation tours...or the anniversary of GSTQ...would it be possible
to ask the seller any further questions, or speak with the printer? That might
clear up the provenance...so whether its a copy or homemade job I have no idea...
