Question Hi i waanna know what are job ,scope, prospects, and future of having msc (masters in mathematics & statistics).
where can i aplly aft completing that ...i mean which companies, industies require my expertise and what will be initial pay package to maximum pay package . And is my job scope limited to teaching only or is it practically applicable in corporate field. Is my knowledge directly applicable in industies ? what are its scope in india and abroad (US)
Answer hmmm
this is not the kind of question i expect to answer in this group.
i will do my best on this.
if you do your MSC WELL, then you can get into many industries and jobs which require complex maths, e.g. insurance (actuarial, product design), IT (areas like data mining need deep knowledge of stats), investment management, market research (quantitative).
Starting pay packages are highly variable, depend on your depth of knowledge, your attitude and aptitude. I run my own company and do some hiring in India.
It is important at your age to focus on building your skills and aptitude and flexibility. Money follows that; good guys in any area make a lot of money, in India and in the US.
So get your written English perfect, and learn enough stats to advise people and solve the problems in this site. If you want I can give you problems to test your knowledge.
