About victor mader Expertise I`m not a broker therefore I can assure that I earn no monies from my unbiased advice. I usually don`t comment on specific stocks but rather how to avoid getting "taken" by any unethical brokers, financial advisors, etc. I have 35 years of personal experience and stay well informed. My goal is to make you a better informed investor. I`ve been told by several stock brokers that I know more than many registered brokers.
Experience I spend an average of 1-2 hours per day reading about investments and have since 1965. I now have accounts at DLJ and Goldman Sachs, two very fine firms.
What do all those mean? I am intrested in learning a brief lesson about those I mentioned.
I know there are books out there but I want to here it from you.
This may sound aukward to you but this is the only way I can explain it to you.
The only lesson I know is that if you put $1000 you will get %10 of what the price is, or something like that.
Answer Wall street is the place where stocks trade, a location in New York City. Stock is an interest in a company, a partial ownership. Nasdaq is a place where what's called "over-the-counter" stocks trade, stands for National Assoc of Securities Dealers. Well known nasdaq stocks are Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Cisco. When you purchase a company bond, or US Tresury bonds, they pay you interest. It's a debt obligation of the issuer to you; you are loaning them money, you get interest back. Funds refer to a group of people banding together to purchase shares; mutual funds amass perhaps millions of dollars, even billions, from investors. These funds are professionally managed by experts.Invest(ing) your money means trying to make a good return on your money, usually by buying shares of stock in a company, or mutual fund, with the hope your investment increases in value.
