About victor mader
Expertise
I`m not a broker therefore I can assure that I earn no monies from my unbiased advice. I usually don`t comment on specific stocks but rather how to avoid getting "taken" by any unethical brokers, financial advisors, etc. I have 35 years of personal experience and stay well informed. My goal is to make you a better informed investor. I`ve been told by several stock brokers that I know more than many registered brokers.

Experience
I spend an average of 1-2 hours per day reading about investments and have since 1965. I now have accounts at DLJ and Goldman Sachs, two very fine firms.

Question
Hi .. victor mader :) .. you always c on the movies people buying and selling stock all the time. I like the idea of buying and selling stock and I belive I could be good at it for personal gain. Now I am faced with the question where do I begin.

My question to you is where can I buy and sell stock ? Do u know of a web site I can visit ? the only problem is I`m thinking of playing around with very very little initial investment , does that oppertunity exist , can I take a small amount of finance and make it grow into billions ?

.. I hope u enjoy the rest of your day and things go well for u .. Jonathan

Answer
Dear J
I would start by buying a no load mutual fund, an Index Fund, like a Russel 2000. Look at vanguard.com.
If you must buy a stock buy a S+P500 stock, something of some size. Don't listen to bar rumors. Follow your stock, read about it, read about it online and learn why it goes up and down. I personally like Citigroup, a large bank/ insurance company. It may go down and you must be prepared to lose money. Are you going to grow a few dollars into billions? Never. Best way to grow money is to educate yourself. Read Wall St Journal, Forbes and anything you can on-line. Read, read. Forbes has great issue out right now, best Web sites, find it and buy it. You'll learn a lot

Victor
