Question
I have some QuickBasic programs that I wrote about 15 years ago, my wife and I still use one of these programs to budget our income.  The program is still running well on Windows XP, but the old computer is about due to be replaced.  My question:  would QuickBasic programs run on a Vista system?

Thanks ahead of time for a reply.  Norman

Answer
Hi,

I've heard war-stories both ways. Some seem to run OK while others won't!

If I've got my facts straight one problem you're going to have is where the data is kept. Vista is a bit persnickety on this point so you'll have to do some juggling. I've not run Vista yet and plan to keep as far away from it as I can for as long as I can. At least until SP2 comes out!

I`ve worked in BASIC since the Commodore days and maintain a web site part of which is devoted to helping others with thier problems. I`m proficient in all versions of PowerBASIC but cross over to QuickBASIC and Qbasic frequently.
