Question What was daily life like for the Quakers and what were their hardships they had to overcome?
Answer Quaker daily life was like that of other Americans with few exceptions. Quakers opposed slavery so did not keep slaves. The simplicity testimony meant that Quakers did not spend much money on expensive clothing or household furnishings even when they could afford it. Music and art were generally absent from their lives. The peace testimony led to some tension with the rest of the community during each of our country's wars.
