Quark (Mac, not DS9) - printing pdf at dif frequency in quark 7

Expert: James Fritz - 7/24/2009

Question
hi, i've been using quark 7 on a pc and am able to print high resolution pdf's from the "print" option without any problems. i recently switched to mac, and there are so many more options in the print dialog box- i can't seem to make a pdf.
i can export as pdf- but then how do i specify the frequency, say, if i wanted it for newspaper print (85) or picture book printing (175)?
and while i'm on the subject, what are the best options to choose for the "compression" options in the "export" dialog box?
if there is somewhere that has the steps on how to print....

Answer
Itta,

In Quark 7 (pc or mac) you want to choose file > export > layout as PDF. In the next dialog box you can choose where you want the PDF to go. In this dialog box be sure to click on the options button on the bottom of the box. In here you can changes the settings for quality (newspaper, book, etc).

In regards to compression, the less compression the better the quality (but the size will be larger). For the best, choose no compression.
