Question
I think this movie is about 15 - 20 years old. I think it was made for HBO, Cinemax, or one of the cable channels.

The movie revolves around the life of a young girl who is shipwrecked on the coast of Australia in the late 1800's or early 1900's. She is raised by a local family and is eventually involved with a riverboat business. I think the river was the Murray. I think the word river is in the title.

Im pretty sure you are thinking about a movie called "All The Rivers Run". It starred Sigrid Thornton, a much loved actress here in Australia. Check out this link to see if it's right. Please get back to me if its not correct.

I was educated by constant watching and, if you google australia for the name Bill Collins, the aussie guru of film, well I always thought I must be a relative of his, but mum says no.
