Questions about Movies - Film title

Expert: Jason O`Brien - 9/9/2009

Question
A recently released prisoned (I think played by R.Widmark) decides to find/"get" lawyer he thinks sent him to prison wrongly.Lawyer, again, I think, played by R.Mitchum.I seem to remember a fight between the two, either in a lake or a swamp. There is a horrific scene where the prisoner looks through a glass door in pursuit of the lawyer, blood pouring down his face.I saw this film on television in the early 70s,desperately tryingto remember the title. Most grateful for any info. Many thanks in advance.

Answer
Actually, Robert Mitchum plays the recently released prisoner and Gregory Peck played the lawyer ... the movie was called Cape Fear, came out in the early 1960s.  There was a remake made in 1991 starring Nick Nolte and Robert De Niro, and both films are very good.
