How do I go about researching all movies filmed in a certain town in the US, specifically El Segundo, California?

Your best bet would be to go to www.imdb.com.

Near the upper left hand corner, click the link "other searches".

In the search by "words"  section, enter "El Segundo, CA" and then also select "location" in the other box.

I think there's a bunch of movies that have been shot there.
