Questions about Movies - Lorna Doone

Expert: Expert - 7/21/2005

Question
I'm researching the many filmings of Lorna Doone, two of which I have enjoyed.

I'm familiar with the 2001 and 1951 versions.

Of special interest to me is the manor in which the final fight scene (John Ridd and Carver Doone) is handled. In the book, Carver loses because he sinks into quick sand. The movies have had him killed in various ways.

Are you familiar with any of these filmings?

Cliff Smales

Answer

I regret that I have never seen either film and know nothing about the book. Sorry

HOWEVER, if you go to this URL:

www.imdb.com/find?q=lorna%20doone;s=tt

you will find a list of the many versions of this novel; and can probably get good info on any or all of them.
