I saw someone ask a question about finding the title to a movie from a few years ago. Something about a crane, a fish tank treasure chest, a lake that was drained, and a young kid trying to figure out the mystery. The link to this question is: http://experts.about.com/q/1416/4116464.htm
I also have been trying to figure out the name of that film for about 13 years now, and cant figure it out. If you could find out, I'd love to hear the answer.
Thanks

Stretch,
I have bad news, friend. I had to tell the other asker, too... I cannot find anything on this film, and that may very well be the first time I've never found ANYTHING at all on a movie.
Can you tell me anything else about it? The actors, any of them, or at least what they looked like? What you may have seen them in besides this film? Where you saw it? Anything at all might help...
Send me a follow-up and let me know,
PCG
Unfortunately I don't remember too much else about the film. I saw it in 4th grade in 1993 during class, but we were never able to finish it at school. We watched it on VHS, so it must have been made some time before that. As far as I can deduce, it had to have been made in the mid to late 80's since I saw it in the Fall of For a while I thought it was just all my imagination, but then the other asker had the same question, so i figured there must be some truth in it.
Here's the other smaller details that I can remember:
The main charachter was a young boy, probably about 15 or 16 years old. Brown hair, but no features that stand out. Just an average kid. Unfortunatley I can't remember his charachter name or his actor name.
At some point in the film, I can remember that there was an old man fishing on the lake in a small rowboat when bubbles started to rise all around his boat. Then the machine (or whatever it was) came up and "ate" his boat - just kind of pulled it under water.
Later, the boy was staring at his fish tank, and saw the lid of the toy treasure chest build full of air, open, release all the bubbles, and then close and slowly fill with air again. Then there was something about scuba gear and diving, but this is a little foggy.
He then goes into the town, tries to get some help, and eventually ends up riding his bike down a step hill back to the lake (i think he was being chased, or possible running from a trian or mining car? and he had two freinds with him, also on bikes).
The only other detail that I can remember is that, somehow, they end up pumping all the water out of the pond (I think it was a mining pond - a lake created by a rock quarry). The last thing I remember (before they had to turn the movie off) was that practically the entire pond had been drained, except for a very small portion about 20 feet wide when all of a sudded, bubbles started to form again, the machine surfaced again, and then again went back underneath the water.
But other than that, I can't remember anything else.
If you remember any other details about the film, let me know even if you don't remember the name of this movie.
Thanks

Answer Hi, Stretch...
Well, I'm outta luck here... the closest thing I have found is a film called "Monster in the Lake," but it was made in 1956, and had no mention of a crain or treasure chests... I'm gonna keep looking, but you might want to ask someone else...
Let me know if you find out this title... it's driving me crazy....
