I have been searching all over the internet for the answer to a trivia question.

Can you help me......

What is the most used movie effect of all time?

Answer
Tricky question, Barb. Most used or most overused?
Most used would really be something we wouldn't think of, like a smoky atmosphere or rain. These effects are used very often but aren't noticed, so we don't tire of them.
Most overused? Take your pick. Bullet hits? Monsters rearing up out of debris? Exploding helicopters? Camera shake? ...What do you think?

Movie Special Effects, particularly animatronics. I worked for Jim Hensons Creature Shop as an animatronics designer, and worked on movies such as LABYRINTH, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, THE WITCHES etc. I dropped out of the industry at the end of the 1980s. I am not up-to-date on the latest CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) methods, but I can answer questions about how most other effects are done; including monster makeup, puppetry, and horror effects. I have a good general knowledge of film effects techniques

My Favourite movie that I have worked on is Little Shop of Horrors.
