Question I am looking for an old movie (40s - 50s?) in which a man falls into an Utopia-type community similar to Shangri La in Lost Horizons. However, the inhabitants are all blind and it has something to do with drinking the water. In order to escape, he must act as if he is blind. This sounds really stupid, but I have been looking for this movie for years. Any idea?

but it took more effort than I thought it would.
I tried looking for films connected to _Lost Horizon_, and filsm where "blind" was mentioned in the plot along with words like "utopia," "escape," and "water." No luck. My only two suggestions are to go to
(1) go to www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/threads
and post this same question. You'll have to register with IMDB, but only means giving a nick and your real e-mail address.
(2) do an advanced search at imdb.com, looking for films between 1940 and 1960 with the word "blind" in the plot. There are quite a few of them, but you just might find it.
