About Popcorn Guy
Expertise
I`m pretty good in most every genre of movie, but horror and sci-fi are my best categories. I`m also pretty good on the old studio films of the 30`s - `50`s.

Experience
Three walls of videos in my den, and a shelf of reference books. Also have a degree in film criticism, which helps...

Questions about Movies - RE: Sci Fi in the 80's

Question
I remember seeing this one movie when I was about 7/8. It was a teen couple who opened a door to a diff. galaxy and some beings from there came to our planet. There was a man (looked like the beast master) who perhaps came from the past and not another galaxy. There was a war/conflict and the police was involved, the female teen was shot/injured and the male teen had to open the door to the galaxy again in order to restore everything- he did this by playing specific notes on the keyboard. There was also an object that had to be used with the keyboard. they found that object and by coincidence opened the door in first place. every time I think about that object it always reminds me of the transmissioner everyone is looking for in "Dude Where's My Car" I hope you know what movie this is, if so please let me know. THNKS

Answer
Hi, Armz...

I am pretty sure the film you are looking for is called "Masters of the Universe." It was the film version of the cartoon with He-Man and She-ra. It starred Dolph Lundgren. The girl who was shot was played by Courtney Cox, a few years before "Friends" started up. It wasn't the best film, by a long shot, but it pops up on TBS all the time. Between that and "Beastmaster," I'd say there is never a night when one or the other is not on some cable channel.

Hope this helps,

PCG
