I am the publisher of Movieguide(r). I host the Movieguide(r) radio and television programs. I have financed five feature films. I was the President of the organization which produced the Emmy Award winning CBS TV program THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. I was the Director of the TV Center at City University of NY. Dr. Ted Baehr, Chairman of The Christian Film & Television Commission/Good News Communications, is a well-known educator, lecturer, and media pundit. He directed the TV Center at CUNY in the late 1970''s and conducted some ground breaking research in the area of the impact of the mass media of entertainment and how to develop discernment. He has written many books, including NARNIA BECKONS {Broadman & Holman, 2005}, SO YOU WANT TO BE IN PICTURES? {Broadman & Holman, 2005}, FRODO AND HARRY: The Lord Of The Rings Versus Harry Potter {Crossway, 2004}, WHAT SHALL WE WATCH TONIGHT? {Zondervan, 2004}, FAITH IN GOD AND GENERALS {Broadman & Holman, 2004} THE MEDIA-WISE FAMILY (Chariot Victor}, and GETTING THE WORD OUT (Harper & Row), financed five feature films, produced many television and radio programs, and designed several games, including ""the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe"" board game. He put together the financing for five feature films, was president of the organization that produced the famous CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE which had 37 million viewers and won an Emmy Award, and produced hundreds of PBS programs, as well as many programs for other television networks. Dr. Baehr initiated and developed with Paul Gruen the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA games for D. C. Cook publishing. Dr. Baehr tested and helped to develop the Growing With Television intergenerational educational series. Dr. Baehr is on the board of many organizations including the National Religious Broadcasters, Religious Heritage of America and the Steering Committee of the Theological Summit Conference.
Organizations
Presently, Ted serves on the board or board of advisors of more than 20 organizations, including the National Religious Broadcasters, the American Theater of Actors, and the Theological Summit Conference, and is an active member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Press Club.

Utilizing sixteen years of research in evaluating the impact of the media on both children and adults, Dr. Baehr has been featured on numerous shows, such as "Hannity & Colmes", CNN, ABC, Fox News, MSNBC, "Oprah," and "Entertainment Tonight." His opinions are featured in major newspapers and magazines throughout the United States including USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and Time Magazine.
Education/Credentials
Dr. Baehr graduated with High Distinction in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College, attended Cambridge University, the University of Bordeaux & Toulouse, and the University of Munich, graduated with a Juris Doctor from NYU School of Law, and finished his theological studies at the Institute of Theology.
Awards and Honors
Dr. Baehr has received five Angel Awards from Excellence in Media, a Chicago Intercom Silver Plaque, the prestigious Wilbur Award, two awards from the Southern California Motion Picture Council, The President''s Award from ICVA/ICCM, the coveted Religious Heritage of America Faith & Freedom Award, and the prestigious Covenant Award from the Southern Baptist Radio & Television Commission.
