AboutMel Priddle Expertise Films have been my great love since the age of four when I saw my first. I am particularly knowledgeable on the films of John Wayne, Frank Sinatra (and his music) and Elvis Presley (and his music), but I will try to answer any question relating to movies from 1900 to the present day.
Experience I am an ex-cinema manager and film publicist.
Question I noticed on a message board that you transcribed a song called "Chief Bright Sky," sometimes known as "The Chieftain's Daughter." I first heard this song sung to me by my grandfather around 1933. Are you aware of other versions or additional verses. I remember a couple of verses that weren't listed in your transcription.
Thank you.
Answer Hello Hazel,
Yes, I believe there are several different versions of this story/poem. Many go by the title of "The Chieftain's Daughter". One version is of Irish origin.
If I recall correctly, the one that you came across on another website, I transcribed from a version that was e-mailed to me by the person who wanted the transcription.
Everything I transcribe is added to a collection of song lyrics at www.lyricsplayground.com
If you have extra verses of this song, and you would like me to add them to my transcribed version, please send them along to me and I will be happy to do so.
