Subject: Price Level List Reports with No Prices

Question
QUESTION: Hello, Linda.

We are running QB's Enterprise Solutions 7.  We use Price Level Lists and have 90 total (Active and Inactive).  I read a forum that Pam sent in August and am not sure if she figured the problem out.  We just added a few new active Price Levels.  When we try and print the new Price Level Reports, a couple of the new Price Levels show no prices.  When we go to modify the report and find that price level, it is not listed.  I see all but two of the newly added Price Levels.  We have tried Verifying Data to check the integrity of our data, but this did not help.  We also tried duplicating the Price Level and renaming the new one to see if it would show up in the Modify Report, but it did not show up either.  Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

ANSWER: Hi Trae,

I've seen this with customer lists, not all the lists showing and a rebuild did the trick. You said you verified, but did you rebuild? If not copy the datafile onto your desktop and from the file menu > utilities >rebuild the data.

Keep in mind that the maximum # of Price levels is 100.

Let me know if this is not the answer.

QUESTION: Linda,

Thanks for the help.  We rebuilt the data and now the issue is worse.  We have 7 price levels that do not show up pricing in a price level report instead of 2.  And the price level does not show up in the Modify Report screen.  I also checked one of our other companies, running different books and their Quickbooks has the same problem.  Do you have any other suggestions?

Answer
Hi Trae,

Try resorting the list
From the price level list window, click on Price level button in lower left and resort the list.
_____
Are you on the latest release of 7.0?

control + 1 will tell you what release you are on. It should be release 11

If not,
http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/productupdates.aspx?lid=updatedownl...(sub%20hdr)
paste this URL (both lines if you see 2 lines) into your browser, download the latest release to your desktop and doubleclick on the file, the update will do the rest.

Then copy your data file back onto your desktop and do the rebuild again. I heard once that 3 rebuilds in a row sometimes cures "ills" but I've never had a need to do that.  Again, since you are copying the file onto your desktop before you rebuild it, running it through the rebuild process several times cant hurt.
_____
If this does not work, you will need to call QB support directly 866-340-7237. The may need to open up the database from the backend, or may have another trick that can be done. If you find that they were able to help, post the solution here again so that the next person will benefit from your work.
