Quicken & Other Budget/Accounting Software - Reconciling my bank account

Expert: Linda Saltz, CPA, QBalance.com - 7/24/2004

Question
Hello.  My monthly account reconciled out to zero, but the "Finished" window doesn't come up to let me finish the process.  It won't allow me to get to the next month's statement.  Thank you for your help.
I'm using Quicken 2002 Basic.

Answer
Hi Cyndi,

I do not know why the finished window does not come up.
Have you clicked on the finished button after reconciling to a zero difference?

I took a look at the Quicken knowledgebase and the following problem may be what your experiencing:
Why are the "Mark All," "Finish Later," "Finished," and "Cancel" buttons missing from my Statement Summary or Reconcile Bank Statement window?

"Possible
Cause: Quicken has not been maximized, or the screen resolution setting is incorrect.

Answer: To resolve this issue:

Click the Maximize button, which is located between the Minimize and Close buttons in the upper right corner of Quicken.
If this does not resolve the issue, adjust your display settings:

Exit Quicken, and then right-click a blank area on the Microsoft® Windows® desktop and choose Properties.
Click the Settings tab.
Move the Screen area or Desktop area slider to 800 by 600 pixels, and then click OK twice. Your screen will flicker for a few seconds.
Click OK or Yes if a message similar to "Do you want to keep these settings?" appears.
Wait a few seconds for the new resolution setting to take effect, restart Quicken, and then reconcile the account again "

If this is not your problem, you might check with Quicken support
