Question
Where can I get some really good ideas for quilting square design....and what is the best way to match fabric up so it goes well together???? Do you think it is a good idea to have a bunch of different square patterns in one quilt???

Answer
Hi Kim
I get my ideas from the free quilt block sites on the internet.  There are bunches of them.  Just type "free quilt block patterns" and you will get many, and those will sometimes link to more sites.

As to matching fabric, one way is to find a focal (main) fabric, then choose colors from it for the other fabrics.

Using different blocks in a quilt is usual.  This kind of quilt is called a sampler quilt.

Just remember, YOU are the designer, so what appeals to you is good.

have fun quilting
