Question QUESTION: I mistakenly printed pictures for my photo quilt with a laser jet printer rather
than an ink jet printer. I did not realize my mistake until the quilt was together
and quilted. Is there a product available to "seal" the pictures to prevent the
pictures from running?
ANSWER: What did you print your photos on? I have had no problems using the laser color in place of ink jet as long as the fabric the photos are printed on is pretreated for printing.
However, there is a product that you can use to launder the quilts to preserve the photos. The product I use is Bubble Jet Rinse.
If you can print one more photo, let it dry one week then try laundering it carefully by hand in cold water and see what happens. If it seems to run then you will have a problem.

QUESTION: I used Printed Treasures Injet fabric sheets. They are 200 thread count cotton.
When I rinsed (no detergent) the quilt in the washing machine one of the photos
completely washed away.
Where have you purchased your Bubble Jet Rinse? Thank You!
Answer I believe I purchased it from Joann.com.
Having that picture wash completely away is terrible. I have not had that situation at all. I honestly don't have a really good answer for you. My only suggestion at this point is to contact the Printed Treasures company and see if they have any suggestions.
There are some fixatives that can be purchased in art supply stores. I'd try one of those next if you don't get any other sugestions.
I can appreciate your dilemna, quilting is a lot of hard work so you really don't want to lose your work.
Last but not least you might be able to replace the photos by redoing them as iron-on transfers and ironing them over the faded ones.
Keep me posted on how your resolve this if you don't mind. I'll learn from you in this instance!
