Question I have a photo quilt that was made using transfer paper and an ink jet printer. The quilt was beautiful but, the transfers are starting to peel a little. Is there anything I can do to fix them and to prevent the others from peeling. I used 100% cotton for the materiel. Help!!!!
Answer OK, this is almost the opposite of the question I answered previously. I guess photo quilts are harder than we think! To be honest a peeling transfer is a pretty hard fix. Perhaps someone other than I can give a better answer.
I do have a thought, that I have to admit I have never tried. One quilter I know puts tulle over some squares. Perhaps sewing a square of tulle over the transfer and then quilting it would keep it in place. It will make the photos more translucent (less clear?) You might try a sample first.
If you find a better solution I'd love to know about it.
