Subject: bind a Grandmas Flower garden

Question
The Flower garden quilt I have was made by Grandmother who has since past away. It is not quilted or bound. I know how to quilt it, but how do you bind the edges? It has a octagon edge and I do not want to square it by cutting them off. Can you help?

Thank you,

Bonnie

Answer
HI Bonnie,
To bind the quilt you will need to use bias binding.

Here are some sites that may be of help

http://www.geocities.com/homebays/scallops1.html

this one has a lot of stuff, but scroll down to the binding section there is a lot of good info and pictures.
