Quilting/quilt block

Question
Hello
After you quilt the block,(fabric, batting, fabric) do you trim your blocks before sewing them together? I find a lot of my blocks are not even, one side more or less of fabric. I am doing the "quilt as you go" method.
Thank you B.

Answer
If you are doing the quilt-as-you-go method where you quilt all the way to the edges of each block before joining them together, you can trim blocks after they are quilted.

Then you will sew the blocks together, right sides together, and cover the seam allowances on the backside of the quilt with fabric tape.
