Question
Hi Connie,
I would like to baste my quilt, but don't want to do it on the floor (dogs and young children).  I also do not want to buy an expensive frame that I'll have to figure out where to store when I'm not using it.  I plan to hand quilt it using a simple hoop when I'm done basting so an expensive frame again wouldn't make sense for me.  Do you have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this task?    Thanks for your help.....Tracey

Answer
Hi, Tracey,

I know a lot of people talk to their local libraries and arrange a time when they can put some of their large tables together and use them to spread their quilt layers out upon. This way, they needn't get down on the floor to do the basting.

You might talk to local schools about using their cafeteria and a few tables as well.

Whichever you choose, you will need some help, in order to get the whole thing basted within an allotted time period. Make a party of it and serve dessert at your house when you are finished!
