Question
I am both an avid boater and quilter.  I am trying to figure out how I can make a quilt to fit the vee-berth of a
sail boat.  I think that blocks that are set on point might be the solution but I really need help with this.

Answer
Hi Valerie,
The first thing I would do is get a measuring tape, note pad and pencil.

Then I would measure the area I want to make the quilt for. And also the shape of the area.

Next would be to graph it out on graph paper, usually 1/4 inch  squares are good enough.  Then draw it to scale, probably 1 inch = 1 foot would be good, on the graph paper.

Quilt blocks do not have to be square.  They can any shape you want them to be.

Once you have the shape laid out on grid paper you can design blocks to fit the areas.

Hope this helps.
