Question I have a quilt block pattern measuring 16". I would like to use this one block to make a lap quilt of about 56". Is there a general formula for doing this? How do you go about figureing this out? The pattern has about 40 square and triangular peices. Thank you.
Answer HI Theresa,
What needs to be done is to make a copy of your pattern, on the copy mark 1 inch squares. On another piece of paper, newspaper, not printed, usually works best, mark 3.5 inch squares. you should have 16 squares across.
You will need more than one sheet of newspaper.
In each of the squares copy what is in them from the small pattern.
