Question iv always been facinated with quilting and wanted to make one. can u give me a simple model whic i can make at home and also can i sew it using an ordinary home sowing machine? and also how do u finish the ends of the quilt with the bading inside will it not get stuck in the machine?
Answer Hi, Heidy,
The scope of this question is too large to answer in a message here. There are simply too many choices and too many considerations. Libraries everywhere have books with basic directions for each step in creating quilts. Besides providing guidelines on appropriate supplies and preparation of fabrics before you get started, they will include plenty of illustrations for each step in the process.
Yes, piecing and quilting can both be done on the home sewing machine.
There are many ways to finish the edges of a quilt, all of which enclose the edges in fabric. The batting will not get stuck in your machine since it will be enclosed within woven fabric and not directly exposed to the sewing machine's feed-dogs.
Should you have additional questions on particular aspects of the process, let me know how I can help.
