About Audrey Zohner
Expertise
I am an expert rag quilter. I have made over 100 rag quilts and would love to assist others with questions and methods. I don't know much about actual quilting like machine or hand quilting or applique. I am, however, the resident expert on rag quilting in my town. If you want to make a rag quilt, I am your woman.

Experience
I have been sewing for 12 years and rag quilting for 4. I have experienced just about every pitfall there is in rag quilting. Check out my quilts at audreysragquilts.etsy.com.

Subject: no sew tie quilt

Question
i am a beginner looking for a project to do with my kids. How do you make the new no sew and tie quilt.

Answer
This is a really basic quilt.  Get two pieces of fleece (whatever size you want).   I usually get 1.5 yards for a little kid and 2.25 yards for a teenager and 2.75 yards for a large adult.   Lay them down on the floor, one on top of the other and square them off.  Make sure they are the same size, cutting off any excess.

Now cut into the edge 3 or 4 inches-every inch or inch and a half.  Cut out a 3 or 4 inch square from all four corners.

Now, take a "flap" or single section from the fleece on top and tie a square knot with another flap from the bottom fleece.  Do this for every flap you have cut.  Once they are all tied, you're done!
