Question I am 49. I quit smoking for 10 years. I restarted. I quit for 1 year. I restarted. Some of the time it was almost a pack a day but most of the time it was half a pack a day or even less. I quit over 7 months ago b/c I got pnemonia. Since then I have had asthma attacks and bronchitis and now I have a lung infection again although not severe. I never had any problems before. they have doen all kinds of tests and cannot find anything. can one's lungs be cleaning themselves for over 7 months?
Answer Dear Susanne,
This is puzzling. No it should not take so long for your lungs to heal. How long did you smoke for. If you are seeing doctors that you trust, than I wold recommend to hang in there. It should get better over time.
