Question I recently stopped smoking after 17 years and i am 34 and about to try to have a baby, however i am using a personal steam inhaler and liquid nicotine cut to about 11 mg nicotine ,with glycerin half and half. I am using a type of electronic cigarette . What are the risk of just the nicotine to a pregnancy? Thank You.
Answer Dear Amanda,
That is great that you quit, and congratulations on trying to have a baby.
Consult your doctor, but in general nicotine is safe during pregnancy. Smoking is very harmful during pregnancy, but most of that danger is the components of the smoke and the carbon monoxide.
I hope this helps,
