Expert: Michael Dean Date: 12/2/2007 Subject: Nicotine in Blood
Question I'm due a blood test in two weeks & I would like to know how long does it take for Nicotine to get out of my blood?
Thanks
Answer If you have not smoked in at least a month, your level should be undetectable. Of course if you have significant exposure to second hand smoke, you will register some level of nicotine.
But if this is for an insurance company, and you test positive they could deny you a policy. Or, if you were to die of a smoking related illness within 2-3 years, they could deny benefits.
