Subject: Quote from John Dewey

Question
I am trying to find information as to what is the meaning behind John Dewey's quote “As long as art is the beauty parlor of civilization, neither art nor civilization is secure.” Looked at many site on John Dewey but can not find any information on this famous quote of his.
Any help would be appreciated, as I have to comment myself on this and I would like to understand in what context he wrote this.

Answer
This looks to be a hard question. I do know who John Dewey is and my guess is that quote was about art work of some sort, so I checked in an art chat room for help. One person recommended that site. Does this help?
