Sometimes to help people you have to think like them. I am kind of one of the experts who thinks before answering. Don`t be afraid to ask questions.

Question
Hello Dan:

There's a quote of which I'm very fond: "We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give." I would love to know who said this first. I've seen it attributed to Winston Churchill, George Eliot, Franklin Roosevelt and tennis star Arthur Ashe. Do you know the real source for this?

Thank you, Elizabeth

Answer
Good question. One of the problems with searching online is people can post anything. Books are not much different, yet I see more truth in some books. Of course, I can't say that as a fact that there always is more truth in books, yet usually.

For this reason, if you want to find out who said a quote, a good site to search is http://print.google.com/ .

This searches in books. Of course some people get information for books from online sources.

Good luck and sorry. Try the above site.
