RC Model Airplanes/Cars/Boats - motor upgrade

Expert: Ken Myers - 2/24/2008

Question
my TX. for super cub broke so i upgraded all esc. i now need a speed control but was also looking to put a stronger motor at a later time what speed control amp. should i get & can motor be changed later on?

Answer
Hi James,

You didn't say which Super Cub, but if it was the Hobby Zone

then something like the Castle Creations Pixie-20P 20 amp for a brushed motor

would be a good choice.
The motor can always be changed at any time.  If you decide to go brushless though, you may want to do it now, as you'll need a brushless controller, not a brushed controller.

Sincerely,
Ken
