RC Model Airplanes/Cars/Boats - rc models

Expert: Ken Myers - 2/24/2008

Question
i have just receved a lot of rc engins & planes of my uncle unfortunatly i know nothing about them. there is a spitfire model from the 1960s and some engins from the same time.i was just wondering wat to do with them. thanks

Answer
Hi Norman,

I have no idea what you want to do with them, but...
If you want to use them, then you'll need a trainer type plane, not a Spitfire, and a local RC club where you can get instruction.  You can find local RC flying clubs by going to http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx and searching for clubs in your area.  The local guys will be glad to help you get into the hobby.

If you want to sell them, you can run an ad in a local paper, or contact a local club to see if anyone is interested.  There are also a lot of Swap Shops going on this time of year where used equipment is bought and sold.  Again, if you contact a local club, they can tell you when and where these are taking place.  Also, a local hobby shop that sells RC equipment should be about to tell you about local Swap Shops.

Sincerely,
Ken
