RC Model Airplanes/Cars/Boats - Revo 3.3 will not fire

Expert: Matt Coia - 3/16/2008

Question
Last year I was out for a last run and decided to run it real hard, as I did this the truck went into second gear ran good and than died. Tried to restart with no luck. Checked glow plug and changed still no luck. During winter tore complete motor down and found nothing wrong. Drained fuel, cleaned tank. All is good in my eyes but still does not fire! Any thoughts?

Answer
Hi Craig,

Well, it could be a few things.  Did you tear down the carb at all this winter?  I would make sure to put new fuel lines and disassemble and clean all the carb parts as well.  Something may be clogging the inlet.  You can check this by dripping a couple drops of fuel directly into the carb after taking off the air filter.  If it fires up briefly, then you know it's not getting fuel.  Otherwise, you may be looking at a compression problem but that's unlikely.  Give that trick a try and let me know what happens.

Good luck.
Matt
