Answer Hi Larry,
There is no "crashing" insurance. That's why you really need to join a local club and have an instructor. Your homeowners or renters insurance needs a rider to cover liability in case you injury someone or cause property damage. All states in the USA are different and you really need to check with your insurance agent.
If you are in the USA, Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) http://www.modelaircraft.org membership includes additional liability insurance and theft insurance as part of your membership. I'm sorry, but I am not aware of how other countries handle the situation.
