RC Model Airplanes/Cars/Boats - Electric rustler

Expert: Matt Coia - 6/12/2008

Question
I have the electric rustler, and I was wondering if you can lift them any way? because they are so low that its hard to go offroading with them

Answer
Hey Mike,

Great question. Most vehicles can have their ride height changed pretty easily. This is usually just a matter of moving, adjusting, or replacing the shocks. The first and easiest thing for you to try is adding "pre-load" to the springs. This means that if you put some spacers in that compress the springs, then they will push the suspension arms lower, increasing your ride height. You can also change the upper and/or lower mounting position of the shocks. This will change the height but you'll have to experiment a little more. Lastly, you can put taller shocks on but, again, you'll have to experiment to find the right length that will work with that truck. Good luck!

Matt
