Question Hi Matt, i have just bought a used 1/10scale rc car with problems.
The batteries are both working fine, a bit off the transmitter antenna has been broken off. Will this affect my rc car in anyway?
Also, my rc car's settings have been stuffed around by an amateur and the car accelerates by itself and does not reverse, when i press hold the reverse trigger it just stops. Could you please assist in helping me with these problems.

THE ANTENNA MAY NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE .IF WE CAN FIX THE OTHER PROBLEMS FIRST WE CAN SOON TELL.
THE PROBLEM MAY BE THAT THE SPEED CONTROLLER HAS BEEN ALTERED. DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF CONTROLLER????
I WILL ASSUME TO START WITH THAT IT IS THE TYPE THAT HAS AN ARM (BRUSH) THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE SERVO WITH A SHORT ROD, AM I RIGHT? OR MAY BE THE SPEED CON SITS ON TOP OF THE SERVO?
AND THE BRUSH DOES NOT START AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SPEED RANG BUT PARTLY INTO THE SPEED RANG?
THIS MAY BE THE PROBLEM -AND THE MOTOR STARTS BEFORE OR AS YOU SWITCH THE RADIO ON???
AT THE TRANSMITTER IS THERE A WAY OF ADJUSTING THE SERVO <--> MAY BE WITH A SMALL SCREWDRIVER???
THIS WAY YOU MAY BE ABLE TO ADJUST THE START POINT OF THE SPEED CON??
OR MAY BE ON THE TRANSMITTER YOU CAN MOVE THE TRIM CONTROL NEXT TO THE MAIN STICK UP AND DOWN TO POSITION THE SERVO /SPEED CON AT THE START POINT AND NOT PART WAY INTO THE SPEED RANGE!
THIS MAY ALSO BE THE PROBLEM WITH THE REVERES.
IF YOU HAVE THE OTHER TYPE OF CONTROLLER E.G. ELECTRONIC THAT PLUGS INTO THE RECEIVER IT MAY BE JUST A MATTER OR INSERTING A SMALL SCREWDRIVER INTO THE TOP OF THE UNIT AND ADJUSTING IT <---> THERE IS USUALLY A SMALL HOLE TO PUT IT INTO .TO GET THE SPEED CON BACK TO THE START POSITION!
NOT EASY TO EXPLAIN IN WORDS!
OUNCE THE CAR IS RUNNING BETTER? THE ANTENNA SHOULD WORK. OVER A GOOD DISTANCE IF NOT REPLACE.
