RC Model Airplanes/Cars/Boats - Motor shut off for an RC Boat

Expert: Martin Seymour - 8/26/2009

Question
I have recently purchased an Aquacraft Rio 51.  After running the boat during engine break-in, I lost the ability to kill the engine with the transmitter (typically performed by switching the transmitter off).  Testing it on land, I found that when I switched the transmitter off with the boat running, the motor excelerated.  Is this a servo adjustment? If so, how do I accomplish this?

Answer
HI JON.
Ideally you should install a engine cut out along with the rest of the radio gear in a water tight box.this will cut the engine if signal is lost!

This appears to be normal behavior was the stick in low or high setting when the rc was switch off?
