Experience I have been building and flying radio controlled model aircraft since 1960. I'm the president of the Electric Flyers Only, Inc., located in southeasten Michigan. I'm a past president of the National Electric Aircraft Council. I'm vice-president of the Midwest R/C Society. I was president and main founder of the UFO (Union Lake Flying Organization). I've built and flown most types of model aircraft except helicopters.
Question I bought a Ready-to-fly Easystar and I flew it, and then it crashed. The propeller fell off, and I slipped it back on, but now it doesn't go as fast as it should, even on a full charge, and in mid-air the propeller falls off. How can I fix it?
Answer Hi Sarah,
I looked at my EasyStar this morning. I see there is some type of bushing that is helping keep the prop on the shaft. It could be that you lost it or that it is too worn. You can use a 3.2mm collet prop adapter to hold the prop on. You should be able to get one at a local hobby shop or online. You'll probably have to enlarge the hole in the prop to fit the collet prop adapter shaft, but it will work.
