REO Speedwagon - Original: "Live: You Get What You Play For"
Expert: Kathy - 9/9/2008
Question Liev you get what you play for was the rock album that inspired me to pick up a les paul and start rocking. Is there anywhere in the world where I can get it in the orginal condition on CD??? The version that is for sale is a sad attempt of altering Rock history.
Answer Hi Jaymyn:
You are correct that the CD version of this 1977 album, released in October 1990, is inferior to the original LP. Several changes were made, including deleting REO's cover of Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" and "Gary's Guitar Solo."
No officially authorized CD release of the original LP recording exists. However, many of our fan club members were just as disappointed as you and converted their LP's to CD's. For instructions on how to do this, or to procure a copy, feel free to contact our members through either of our websites:
